The X-Lift Is A Mini Facelift
As we re-visit some of the cosmetic medicine techniques available today, I just have to tell you about this one. It’s the X-Lift. Dr Joanna’s going to talk us through it and because it uses ‘fillers’ it’s a good idea to read that piece too. Click on the link at the end.
Last year I lost a whole heap of weight suddenly (it’s come back with a vengeance I’m sad to say!) and I looked terrible. I had this treatment and it was amazing, it was like my face came to life and it took 10 years off. Truly.
Hi everyone, let’s talk about the X-Lift. It produces amazing results yet no one would know you’d had anything done.
WHAT IS THE X-LIFT?
The X-Lift gets its name because we use filler from the cheekbones to the corner of the jowl in an X-shape. It’s also known as a Liquid Lift and one of the nice effects it achieves is a clear definition of the cheek and jawline.
WHO WILL GET THE MOST BENEFIT?
The X-Lift can be used for a glamourising effect in a younger patient or a re-draping in an older patient.
It’s great for people who have sagging of the nasolabial folds (the lines that can run from the side of the nose down to the sides of the mouth) and when the jowls lose their volume. And in cases where the tissue used to sit over the cheekbones, but the slide of gravity has taken a toll. The X-Lift can re-drape it back to where it belongs.
This is a also a great treatment for men as it can redefine the jawline – a little bit in the cheek and jawline creates a gorgeous, chiseled look.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
At Clinic 42 we use a cannula technique, which dramatically reduces any bruising and swelling that may occur. This also makes it a true lunchtime procedure because the patient simply looks well and rested afterwards. It’s very difficult to tell what has changed to someone who doesn’t know.
Because the product we use contains a local anaesthetic the procedure is mildly uncomfortable or feels unusual rather than painful.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Because of the large area being treated we need to use a larger amount of product than, say, for lips or nasolabial folds directly. It usually costs $1500.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
This treatment lasts a lot longer than some other areas of the face. Typically it lasts about 18 months to two years. However, subsequent treatments last even longer.
