Meet The Rolls Royce of Foundation!
If you’re writing to Santa, can I suggest putting this on your wish list: La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer • Foundation SPF 15?
Seriously this is one GORGEOUS foundation.
I don’t wear a lot of foundation these days because I work from home a lo . I tend to favour tinted moisturisers, a bit of bronzer and/or a great primer.
But hell, this foundation is ah-maz-ing. It’s one of those expensive, but worth it products.
As you know La Prairie is an uber-luxe skincare brand. They focus on science and anti-ageing.
By the way, if you’ve been here for a while you know I tend to favour the word (my word) ‘youtherising’ over anti-ageing as who wants to be anti anything? But I’ve fallen into line because the term anti-ageing is everywhere and you’ll ‘get’ it more easily.
Anyway, back to this foundation. It’s based on pure caviar extract, which is rich in minerals, vitamins, amino-acids and lipids, omega-3 and -6 fatty acids. It’s also been shown to stimulate the production of collagen by skin cells, and studies indicate that an increase of collagen levels contributes to skin firming.
It also contains a new peptide for firmness and elasticity.
That makes it a treatment foundation in that it offers skincare properties as well as beautifying.
I don’t know about you but I love a bit of lifting and firming power :-).
The other fantastic thing about it is it comes with concealer too. It’s in a flip top on top of the lid so you’ll always have the two together. It comes with a concealer brush and a sponge and the foundation has a spatula for easy application. Plus it contains SPF15 for a bit of sun protection.
But the main thing is the coverage. Incredible. I put this on, the concealer just under my eyes in the inner circles, around the nose and at the sides of my mouth then follow with the foundation.
It’s true I use really good skincare, but this foundation makes my (definitely not young) skin look amazing. Dewy, and I wouldn’t say flawless, but really good. It lasts really well too.
It’s $305 and you can buy it here.Seriously this is one GORGEOUS foundation. Click To Tweet
Would I buy it as I’m on a budget? My answer is yes. Your highest makeup expenses should be skincare and foundation.
This really is superlative. I work out investments on a cost per wear basis, and I can’t tell you for sure what this will work out to as I haven’t used it all yet. However, I know it will last me at least six months, as I don’t use it every day. Do the maths. It works out.
For a rating I’d give it an A+++ as it truly is an exemplary product.
I’m talking to Santa! 🙂
