6 Ways To Share-The-Love ♥

During this Valentine week we got to thinking how we should focus on not just romance, but the way we love everyone around us! So try out one or two (or all!) of our simple ideas to savour the love in your life.

1. A couple of decades ago a very thoughtful (girl) flatmate I had left me a friendship card and some Hershey’s Kisses in the microwave as a surprise on Valentine’s Day. I can’t tell how it made single me feel at the time. Happy, happy!

2. Fill the house with flowers from the store or the garden depending on your budget (but get them before Valentine’s Day). Everyone will love them. You. The Kids. Hubby. Scientific research shows everyone gets a genuine smile when they receive flowers and that includes men.

3. Make some sparkle hearts and give them as gifts. It’s as easy as a, b, c.

Glitter Hearts

a. Grab some basic wooden heart shapes and some Mod Podge from Spotlight or Warehouse Stationary. I used gloss but there is a matt version too.

b. Spread out some newspaper and paint the hearts with Mod Podge and sprinkle glitter over. Leave to dry

c. Roll the sides in the glitter and add a final brush and sprinkle to ensure even coverage all over

d. Seal ♥ (The heart in the pic is from Pinterest)

Shop it: Mode Podge Matt or Gloss, $12.99

Shop it: Glitter, $4.97

Shop it: Wooden Heart, $2

4. Send a loving text to your love unexpectedly or, better yet, a link to your favourite soppy song.

5. If you have some single girlfriends have a girls night with bubbles, yummy’s and the best romantic movies: Pretty Woman, Sleepless In Seattle, The Notebook. Nothing better than girlfriends.

6. Perform a random act of kindness. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?
